Education is the cornerstone of sustainable community development. Since 2004, we have worked to eliminate barriers to learning in the Gouri and Péni regions — from lessons under trees and thatched roofs to permanent educational infrastructure and long-term academic support.
Permanent School Infrastructure: built modern, durable school classrooms to replace makeshift shelters, giving hundreds of children a safe, weather-resistant, dignified place to learn.
The Dorita Salomón Library (Bibliothèque Dorita Salomón): a dedicated library at the Lycée de Péni — a groundbreaking, first-of-its-kind facility in the entire region — with books, reference materials, and study spaces.
Essential Learning Materials & Supplies: textbooks, notebooks, backpacks, and basic school supplies so lack of resources never keeps a child out of school.
Supporting Educators: subsidized teacher pay to retain qualified educators and keep student-to-teacher ratios low.
Health Sector Scholarships: scholarships for students pursuing healthcare degrees, with a service agreement requiring recipients to return to Gouri and Péni after graduation.
